Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the safety concerns of the community in relation to road safety at the intersection of the Bruce Highway, Allendale Drive and Bentley Drive at Alligator Creek. We request the installation of traffic signals at this intersection as it is a significant safety hazard and dangerous intersection which is heavily utilised by cars and trucks. This is a cross road with traffic travelling along Allendale Drive and Bentley Drive able to go straight ahead across the Bruce Highway or to the left or right. It is also the entrance to the Alligator Creek Roadhouse with a second entrance from the highway. Cars and trucks travelling along the highway are moving at 100 kilometres per hour making it extremely dangerous with fatal accidents happening. We feel that all road users are not presently afforded the protection of regulated traffic control.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to consider the provision of traffic lights at the intersection of the Bruce Highway, Allendale Drive and Bentley Drive.
