40th CPA Australia and Pacific Regional Conference

1 - 3 November 2023

 

The Queensland Parliament is delighted to be hosting the 40th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Australia and Pacific Regional Conference at Parliament House, Brisbane.

Conference period

Official hosting commences: 5pm, Tuesday, 31 October when the registration desk will be open for delegates to receive their conference security pass and bag.

Welcome Reception: 5.30pm, Tuesday, 31 October, in the Parliament's historic Lucinda Bar.

Conference official opening: 9.30am, Wednesday, 1 November – all sessions will be held in the Parliament's Legislative Assembly Chamber, with sessions concluding on the afternoon of Thursday, 2 November.

Individual sessions will be recorded and made available on this page after the conference.

Conference dinner: 6.30pm, Wednesday, 1 November – in the elegant Strangers' Dining Room at Parliament House.

Study tour: Friday 3 November – a tour relevant to the conference’s key theme will visit locations around Brisbane, to conclude by approximately 3pm.

Nominations to present papers

As part of the registration process, delegates are asked to indicate their choice of topic on which they would be prepared to present a paper. If delegates would like help with deciding on a topic, please refer to Circular 1 and the list of suggested topics that could form the basis of a paper.

Registration and Participation

CPA Branch Nominated delegates, Full Conference delegates (Unofficial Observers) and Accompanying persons are requested to register via the previously provided Eventbrite link by Friday, 8 September.

Official Conference photo and 'in-action' photos

The Official Conference photo is scheduled to be taken at 10.30am on Wednesday, 1 November on the Grand Staircase of Parliament House.

During the conference photos may be taken by Parliamentary Service staff for use in Queensland Parliament publications, online platforms, and social media accounts. The Queensland Parliamentary Service is committed to protecting the images collected for this purpose in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009.
