The Queensland Legislative Assembly met in Cairns for the sixth regional sitting of the Queensland Parliament from Tuesday 9 to Thursday 11 May 2023.
The Regional Sitting provided visitors the opportunity to view first-hand democracy in action.
PROGRAM
The regional sitting program included:
- a full parliamentary sitting week. Sessional Orders are available here.
- Junior Indigenous Youth Parliament
- a regional Youth Parliament
- schools visit program
This was the sixth regional sitting of the Queensland Parliament following events in Townsville (2002), Rockhampton (2005), Cairns (2008), Mackay (2011) and Townsville (2019).
