Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the absence of adequate safety measures for Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) vehicles exiting the QFRS Nerang Station on Beaudesert-Nerang Road, Nerang.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to ensure that safety measures are put in place, including: (a) installation of emergency stop traffic lights which are activated from within the QFRS station by QFRS personnel when responding to emergency situations, (b) provision of appropriate road markings for the traffic lights and to provide a Keep Clear zone immediately outside of the access/egress of the station on Beaudesert-Nerang Road and (c) installation of prominent signage on the eastern and western side of the QFRS to provide early warning to oncoming traffic to be prepared to stop for emergency vehicles.
