TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the severe lack of suitable infrastructure for whole school assemblies and indoor sport at the adjacent Mansfield State High School and Mansfield State Primary School campuses.

With the two rapidly growing schools already hosting around 2300 and 900 students respectively, and given that the existing hall at Mansfield State High School was built in 1983 (33 years ago) when the student population was under 1000, a new facility is needed urgently to ensure that the schools can continue to deliver exceptional educational, cultural and sporting programs.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to prioritise funding for the construction of a new indoor sports and hall facility that services the increasing needs of Mansfield State High School, Mansfield State Primary School and the wider community.
