TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland citizens draws to the attention of the House that there is a substantial parcel of land available for purchase in Buderim.  Currently the Men's Shed Community Group has temporary use of the land, but is seeking a permanent locality, as is the local community radio station and the Vietnam Veterans' Association.  We believe the State should assist with the purchase of the land for this community use.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to encourage the Government to assist with the purchase of the land at 53-57 Mill Road, Buderim, in conjunction with the Local and Federal Government to deliver much needed community facilities within the local area for the permanent establishment of a Men's Shed which already has temporary use of this land with 120 people now utilising this facility, and to enable further expansion of community facilities including Community Radio and the Vietnam Veterans' Association.
