TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the situation of school children from the rural areas surrounding Bundaberg having to stand on the bus on highway roads at speeds of 100km/h. Your petitioners therefore request the House to amend the transport Operations (Passenger transport) Regulation to make it illegal for buses to have children standing while travelling at 100km/h except in exceptional circumstances or emergency situations.
