The Health and Disabilities Committee has oversight responsibility for the Health Quality and Complaints Commission (HQCC).  The Committee’s role is to:

• monitor and review the performance by the HQCC of its functions
• report to the Legislative Assembly on:
  - any matter concerning the HQCC, its functions or the performance of its functions
  - any changes to the functions, structures and procedures of the HQCC that are desirable for more effective operation of the HQCC or the Health Quality and Complaints Commission Act 2006
• examine the annual report of the HQCC and, if appropriate, comment on any aspect of the report.
