TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the need to provide air conditioning in Pimpama State Primary College, as a matter of urgency. It is unrealistic to expect students, teachers and support staff in our school, to learn, teach and assist each day, in the high temperatures experienced in our area of the northern Gold Coast, where we don’t have sea breezes. The government should be looking after everyone and providing a consistent learning environment for our children which will, in turn, improve learning outcomes.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all in its power to have the government provide funding to complete the air conditioning in the remaining teaching areas of the school, to ensure our students are able to learn in a comfortable and cool environment.
