The petition of the electors of the Division of Southport draw to the attention of the House that the introduction of Light Rail into Queen Street Southport many mean the placing of a station at the front of Southport State School necessitating the conversion of Queen Street into a one way street. This would create obvious hardships and dangers for parents and children who attend the School and lead to the demise of the school. Your petitioners therefore request the House to move the planned station from the front of the School to a location in Wardoo Street, eliminating the street alignment problems that necessitate making Queen Street one way.
