About the BILL
On 11 October 2023, the Hon Dr Steven Miles MP, Deputy Premier, Minister for State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning and Minister Assisting the Premier on Olympic and Paralympic Games Infrastructure introduced the Housing Availability and Affordability (Planning and Other Legislation Amendment) Bill 2023 into the Queensland Parliament. The Bill was referred to the State Development and Regional Industries Committee for detailed consideration.

PUBLIC PROCEEDINGS
The committee held a public briefing on the Bill with officers from the Department of State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning on Monday, 23 October 2023. This was followed by a public hearing with industry stakeholders.
A public hearing was held on Thursday, 9 November 2023.
