The Petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws the attention of the House to the Needle Exchange Program recently opened in Burleigh Heads for which there was no community consultation. The Petitioners advise the location of this needle exchange is not appropriate as it verges on residences and is impacting severely on businesses in the area. The petitioners request the House immediately take steps to relocate this facility to a suitable medical precinct / hospital.
