TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The Petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws the attention of the House to the proposed connection between Algester and Larapinta electricity substations by way of high voltage transmission towers. The petitioners request the House to require Powerlink (as a State Government Owned Corporation) to install such transmission lines underground for the entire 5.5km distance between the two substations.
