TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House their support for increased police presence in the residential areas of Benowa, Bundall and Ashmore.

In light of the recent stabbing murder in Allawah Street, Bundall, the community has raised safety concerns that stem from ongoing antisocial behaviour in these areas, particularly in parks, streets and around local shopping centres after dark.

This petition recognises that additional police patrolling the area would deter such antisocial behaviour.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to support an increased police presence in the abovementioned suburbs to ensure that the Surfers Paradise Electorate is a safe place to live, work, and raise a family.
