TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the
House discrimination against aged pensioners who reside in leasehold
retirement villages in Queensland and pay Local Government Rates via the
owner of their village but who are not provided benefit under the
Queensland State Government Pensioner Rate Rebate Scheme similar to
benefits available to aged pensioners residing outside leasehold
retirement villages in Queensland.
The petitioners herein humbly ask that the Legislative Assembly of
Queensland act to change Law to stop this discrimination in Queensland.
