The petition of the residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the dire state of disrepair and damage in which the old Many Peaks Hospital building, upper Boyne Valley, is in at this time. For almost twenty years, this building has had no care or maintenance. This has allowed weather damage, termite damage and vandalism to badly degrade the building. The site is also in a bushfire prone area.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to all within its power to restore and maintain this iconic piece of local pioneer history or release for sale the small subdivision of land, within the larger Hospital reserve, on which the building sits. Without urgent remedial action, this historic iconic building will be lost forever.
