Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House to consider stopping all renewable energy projects in the State of Queensland. These projects are destroying agricultural land and introducing hazards to surrounding farmland and residents in the area.

Your petitioners believe the House should:

• Consider fire risk from lithium battery storage (BESS).

• Consider that if any of these projects are allowed, they are not built within a twenty square kilometre radius from agricultural land, residential areas, native forests or water ways for safety and welfare of residents, livestock flora and fauna.

• Consider the environment and people at risk due to the toxicity of these projects when they fail in the event of a fire, hail damage and chemicals leaching in to the soil and ground water.

• Stop all subsidies being paid to all renewable projects as they should be viable without any taxpayer funds (subsidies).

Your petitioners recommend an independent safety risk be conducted on any renewable project to ensure if approved it meets all environmental requirements and community expectations.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to reject all future development proposals for wind, solar and hydrogen power in the state of Queensland and get behind building new or refurbishing existing coal fired power stations as our remaining industries and small businesses are depending on a reliable affordable stable power supply.
