Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House to Alfie’s iconic table at the Caxton Hotel, Caxton Street.
On 22 June 2023 after a famous Queensland Maroons' win, rugby league legend Allan 'Alfie' Langer sparked a cultural phenomenon after standing on the table and declaring "we want six more songs".
The event has gone on to symbolise a celebration of Queensland, of our Maroons and of Alfie Langer’s legacy in Queensland rugby league.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all in its power to recognise the cultural significance of "Alfie’s Table" and declare it a Queensland Landmark.
