Queensland citizens draws to the attention of the House that Queensland rental costs for normal people is extraordinarily high. Rents are increasing extremely fast due to shortage of available properties.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to limit rental costs to 25% of the renters income. This will allow people to afford to live in our country. This should apply to long and short term rentals. Owners of rental properties have several options such as writing off losses against their taxes, selling properties or reorganising their finances.
