Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the need for essential enhancements to the existing school oval precinct at Coomera Rivers State School to foster an environment for spectators to enjoy being part of and watching activities on the school oval in a sun safe and comfortable environment. The enhancements required are the installation of tiered seating, shade sails and a retaining wall to create an open, versatile space.

The tiered seating will provide a comfortable area for students to sit, socialise and watch events, enhancing their engagement and enjoyment.

The installation of shade sails will protect the students from the harsh sun and ensure the oval environment is usable year-round, promoting outdoor activity and well-being.

Adding a retaining wall will help manage the landscape, providing a safer and more structured environment for the students to explore.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all in its power to ensure that tiered seating, shade sails and a retaining wall overlooking the school oval is installed at Coomera Rivers State School by the first term in 2026 to encourage socialising and sun safe activities around the school oval for the students.
