Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House, the need for the installation of a durable and efficient shade structure over the existing multipurpose court at Ormeau State School. This enhancement will provide numerous benefits for our students and broader community.

The addition of a shade structure will enable students to engage in sports and other physical activities regardless of weather conditions, ensuring continuous use of the facility. It will also significantly reduce sun exposure, safeguarding the health and well-being of the students by minimising the risks associated with prolonged UV exposure.

Furthermore, the shaded court will accommodate a wide range of sports, games and exercises, fostering a more versatile and inclusive environment for physical education. This improvement will also support community events and engagement, making the court a valuable asset for the entire Ormeau community.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all in its power to ensure that a durable and efficient shade structure is installed over the existing multipurpose court at Ormeau State School, an investment that will contribute to a healthier, more active and connected community.
