Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the deplorable and dangerous condition of the Flinders Highway.

The Flinders Highway is one of the more important national economic freight routes in Australia, and in coming years will become the most important green energy and critical mineral route to deliver the largest private and public infrastructure spend ever in the region with the commencement of the CopperString 2032 project. In its current state this highway is not fit for purpose and is causing unnecessary damage to vehicles and poses significant risks to the safety and lives of its users.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all within its power to immediately prioritise critical upgrades to the Flinders Highway.
