TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the need to allow parent/carers of a child with a disability to obtain a Disability Parking Permit for each parent/carer to display in their respective vehicles. Currently, only one permit is allowed for a family of a child with a disability. This does not support parents/carers who share the transportation needs of the child. One Disability Parking Permit is inadequate for parents/carers of a child with a disability as often each parent/carer has their own vehicle to transport the child and equally sharing the responsibility of transporting the child.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to alter Queensland legislation to allow parents/carers of a child with a disability to apply for and obtain a Disability Parking Permit for each parent/carer to display in their respective vehicles used to transport a child with a disability.
