Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House your petitioners recommendation for solar panels to be put into building plans for all new homes. Your petitioners desire solar panels up to 9.9kW to be installed into all homes, including rentals. Also all businesses to have panels with commercial kW use. Queensland has up to 283 days of sunshine annually. By ensuring the installation of solar in all homes your petitioners are seeking to ensure that power bills can be less for both individuals and businesses. Your petitioners also urge the government to ensure the installation of large scale batteries to upload excess power for use when the weather is not sunny. By updating to solar it is also allowing individual homes to go off grid with their own battery power helping with their bills in the long run. This will also help the Queensland Government achieve sustainability.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to ensure solar panels are used in all homes and businesses by 2040.
