Queensland citizens draws to the attention of the House that current legislation does not allow for young adults offenders who commit serious crimes to be fitted with GPS monitoring.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to amend legislation for youth and adult offenders granted bail/parole in Queensland which makes it mandatory for offender charged with serious criminal offences to be fitted with a GPS monitoring device. Petitioners also hereby request that legislative changes be made to reflect recidivist adult offenders be deemed not eligible for parole.
