TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the evidence that the compulsory wearing of bicycle helmets can and have saved lives. Evidence can also prove those wearing helmets can and/or have suffered less serious injuries as opposed to someone who was not.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to leave current legislation as it stands and have police enforce the law more. Those who are fined to produce evidence that they have a helmet within a set time frame - no excuses.
