TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the absence of state funding for a business case for delivering the full Eastern Busway as committed in Hansard on June 5th 2008.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to acknowledge the commitment by the previous Bligh Government to build the Eastern Busway and call on the Government to instruct Building Queensland to do a business case in 2019 for submission to Infrastructure Australia.
Due to the time that has lapsed since the initial commitment and the growth that has occurred in Southern Redland City, we request the business case allow for this infrastructure to facilitate the Brisbane Metro and connectivity to Victoria Point.
