The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that Gladstone is recognised as a centre of significant industrial growth.  The population is expected to double in the next 25 years. Demand for renal services is growing although many patients relocate due to their inability to travel to Rockhampton 3 days a week for services.  These families deserve to be able to remain in their chosen place of residence.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to ensure funding is made available to the Gladstone Base Hospital to enable full dialysis services as a matter of priority.
