TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland Residents draws to the attention of the House: that a principle objective of every National Park is to give sanctuary to all native animals but if Traditional Owners are granted rights to gather or hunt in National Parks including rights to use firearms or other non traditional weapons or implements, this will violate the concept of sanctuary and any visitor to National Parks risks being accidentally shot.
Your petitioners, therefore request the House to: legislate that no form of hunting or gathering of wildlife by any people be allowed within any terrestrial or marine National Park.
