Committee Details

Overview

In accordance with the Electoral Act 1992, the committee's functions are to:

• be consulted on the process of selection for appointment, and the appointment of, the Electoral Commissioner and the Deputy Electoral Commissioner
• be consulted on the process of selection for appointment, and the appointment of, the chairperson of the Queensland Redistribution Commission and the nonjudicial appointee
• be consulted on the appointment of the reviewer for the strategic review of the Electoral Commissioner and the terms of reference for the review
• be consulted on any postponement of the strategic review
• consider and report on the strategic review to the Legislative Assembly, including making recommendations if applicable.
