The Transport, Housing and Local Government tabled Report No.26 - Building and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2013 on Wednesday 19 June 2013. The Bill was PASSED on 6 August 2013, following from this the amendment Act came into effect on 13 August 2013.

On 16 April 2013, the Minister for Housing and Public Works, the Honourable Timothy Mander MP, introduced the Building and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2013 into the Queensland Parliament. In accordance with Standing Order 131 of the Standing Rules and Orders of the Legislative Assembly, the Bill was referred to the Transport, Housing and Local Government Committee for detailed consideration.
