Annual Reporting Standards of Queensland Industry Development Corporation and Other Statutory Authorities

The Parliamentary Committee of Public Accounts is regarded as "the taxpayers' watchdog on Queensland Government administration" and one of the functions of the committee is to review "annual and other reports by or on behalf of the State, its departments, statutory bodies and agencies".

For Members of Parliament who come into contact with individual Government instrumentalities during the discharge of their duties, it is usually only through the examination of its annual report that they can become fully conversant with the whole spectrum of its activities.

Annual reports are therefore an important mechanism for the disclosure of information to help bridge this information void.
