ABOUT THE BILL

On 25 May 2017, the Minister for Employment and Industrial Relations, Minister for Racing and Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Hon Grace Grace MP, introduced the Labour Hire Licensing Bill 2017 into the Queensland Parliament. 

In accordance with Standing Order 131, the Bill was referred to the Finance and Administration Committee for examination. 

The objectives of the Bill, as set out in clause 3 of the Bill, are to establish a licensing scheme to regulate the provision of labour hire services to protect workers from exploitation by providers of labour hire services and promote the integrity of the labour hire industry.
