Overview

The committee requests briefings from Departments and agencies within its area of portfolio responsibility, and other relevant organisations. The briefings contribute to the committee’s knowledge of the portfolio areas for which it is responsible, including public accounts and public works matters.

The committee has responsibility for the portfolio areas:

• Health and Ambulance Services,
• Environment, Great Barrier Reef, Science and Youth Affairs.

Public briefing with Queensland Health

The committee is holding a public briefing with Queensland Health on Monday 22 March 2021 from 9:30am to 11:00am.

The briefing is in relation to the organisation, responsibilities and activities of Queensland Health and to examine the department’s annual report and financial documents.  Queensland Health’s annual report for 2019-20 is available here.

Written advice from Queensland Health

On 12 March 2021 the committee sought written advice from Queensland Health in relation to a number of questions across various topic areas.  The responses to those questions are available in correspondence from the department dated 13 April 2021 published here.
