The Web Content Accessibility

Queensland Legislative Assembly is committed to making its information readily available online to as many people as possible. We take our responsibility for making accessible web content seriously and are committed to developing web content that promotes accessibility for people with disabilities, to ensure the website meets current accessibility standards, including those defined by the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

Queensland Legislative Assembly endeavours to meet all guidelines and standards established by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 (https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG21/). These guidelines define how to make a web content more accessible to people with disabilities, and conformance to them improves the web’s usability for all people.

The Queensland Parliament website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1. We engaged  Vision Australia to conduct an accessibility audit of the site in July 2021. We will seek to make continual improvements to the site with the aim of achieving full compliance.
