Queensland Residents draws to the attention of the House that it is the opinion of your petitioners that the Redland City is currently mired in conflict and is dysfunctional as evidenced by the council meeting reported on by the Redland Bayside News on 24 July 2025 in an article titled ‘Chaos, conflicts and cleared councillors as six claims backfire’.

Your petitioners are of the opinion the conflict and dysfunction mean the councillors and mayor are incapable of performing their responsibilities and that it is in the public interest that every councillor and the mayor be suspended or dismissed.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to dissolve the Redland City Council and appoint an interim administrator to act in place of the councillors and mayor until the earlier of either: the conclusion of a fresh election of councillors to be held on a stated date; or the conclusion of the next quadrennial election.
