Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that the current laws for punishing the perpetrators of domestic violence is totally inadequate and does not meet the expectations of not only society but also of victims, family and loved ones left to pick up the pieces of such horrendous crime.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to legislate that regardless of age, gender, beliefs or mental state, any person found guilty of domestic violence resulting in death be sentenced to life imprisonment without parole or release.
