Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the need for better sound mitigation for residents residing near our motorways. There has been much scientific research regarding sound-barriers and methods to improve their effectiveness with research showing adding “caps” to sound barriers has a positive impact by further reducing noise compared to a conventional sound barrier.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House that as part of the Coomera Connection Project, all new sound barriers incorporate “caps” to further mitigate noise from the roadway.
