TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House all Queensland’s value the right to protest and have our grievances heard in a public forum. However, we also value our right to freedom of movement whether in a vehicle or on foot. We do not accept that any person or group of people have the right to hinder vehicular and pedestrian traffic simply because they want to protest.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to immediately pass legislation that makes it a criminal offence to unnecessarily hinder or impede either vehicular or pedestrian traffic. The offence must have a minimum of a one-month prison sentence and the recording of a criminal conviction.
