About the Bill

The Protecting Primary Production Amendment Bill 2011 proposes amendments to six Acts. These amendments would:

  • abolish the Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control Board;
  • provide inspectors with wider entry powers for the routine testing of stock feed;
  • provide for a single Queensland Weed and Pest Animal Strategy;
  • clarify the obligations of owners of land and vehicles in respect of notifiable pests;
  • clarify the powers and functions of the Queensland Rural Adjustment Authority (QRAA); and
  • provide for Queensland veterinarians to be covered by the National Recognition of Veterinary Registration scheme.
