ABOUT THE INQUIRY

On 17 July 2018, in accordance with section 92(1)(d) of the Parliament of Queensland Act 2001, the committee resolved to conduct an inquiry into a draft of the Local Government (Dissolution of Ipswich City Council) Bill 2018.

The explanatory notes accompanying the draft Bill stated that the policy objectives of the draft Bill were to dissolve the Ipswich City Council (ICC) and provide for the appointment of an interim administrator to act in place of the ICC councillors for an interim period.
