Mineral and Energy Resources and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2024
About the Bill
On 18 April 2024, Minister Scott Stewart MP, Minister for Resources and Critical Minerals, introduced the Mineral and Energy Resources and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2024 into the Queensland Parliament. The Bill was referred to the Clean Economy Jobs, Resources and Transport Committee for detailed consideration.
The primary objectives of the Mineral and Energy Resources and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2024 (the Bill) are to:
- enhance the State’s coexistence framework;
- provide a framework for managing the impacts of coal seam gas induced subsidence;
- improve regulatory efficiency; and
- modernise the Financial Provisioning Scheme.
