ABOUT THE BILLS
On 5 September 2017 the Treasurer and Minister for Trade and Investment, Hon. Curtis Pitt MP, introduced the Appropriation (Parliament) Bill (No. 2) 2017 and Appropriation Bill (No. 2) 2017 into the Legislative Assembly. In accordance with the Standing Order 131, the Bills were referred to the Finance and Administration Committee for consideration. In accordance with Standing Order 37(1), the House declared the Bills urgent and ordered the committee to report by Wednesday 11 October 2017.

The Appropriation (Parliament) Bill (No. 2) 2017 would authorise an appropriation for unforeseen expenditure for the Legislative Assembly and parliamentary service for the financial year starting 1 July 2016. The Appropriation Bill (No. 2) 2017 would authorise an appropriation for unforeseen expenditure for government departments as set out in Schedule 1 of the Bill for the financial year starting 1 July 2016.
