Notes:
Mr Beardmore retired in 1969 after a serious car accident. The EJ Beardmore Dam, situated 17 kilometres north-east of St George on Lake Kajarabie, is named in his honour - as are hospitals, streets and schools in the Balonne electorate. Life membership, Country Party, Rockhampton; Mr Beardore had a rare gift for story-telling and wrote many poems. One such poem was called 'He was not a bad bloke'
