The Bill proposes to clearly establish the electronic systems used in issuing authorities for low-risk activities under the Nature Conservation Act 1992 and the Environmental Protection Act 1994. The Bill also contains amendments to provide certainty that the authorities issued under the Acts are valid, including those which were issued under previous electronic systems. The Bill contains amendments to ensure that all persons have the same rights and interests to challenge decisions made under the Acts, and to ensure compliance and enforcement for authorities issued prior to amendments made in 2024.
