TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the reduction of paediatric services at the Gympie hospital.

We need to keep our pediatric ward at the Gympie hospital open and make it a functioning well used ward. The governing body making the decision about the ward, are using data from the 2015 census, stating that Gympie has a majority ageing population when in fact Gympie has seen one of the biggest population booms, in recent history. With schools at high numbers around the area, we need to have a Pediatric doctor and ward for our children.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to call on the Government to do all within its power to provide Gympie Hospital with a paediatric doctor and ward for our children.
