Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the unacceptable location of a home that will be rented by Integrated Family and Youth Services (IFYS) for at-risk youth on Anamari Court, Bushland Beach. Residents are of the strong view that this house is not an appropriate location for youth given the potentially negative impact it could have on Bushland Beach with regards to youth crime, the disruption of a quiet neighbourhood and its relative isolation from support services located closer to Townsville itself.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House work with IFYS as a matter of urgency to find a more appropriate location for this youth home away from the northern beaches of Townsville, in order to prevent any potential disruption to the local community and enable better access to the support services these youth will require.
