Principal Petitioner:

David Brogan
65 Mortimer Road

Total Signatures - 3397

Sponsoring Member: The Clerk of the Parliament

Posting Date: 18/03/2020

Closing Date: 27/03/2020

Tabled Date: 22/04/2020

Responded By: Hon Stirling Hinchliffe MP on 8/05/2020

TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that the spread of COVID-19 in Queensland is currently in a critical phase; that confirmed cases of COVID-19 are estimated to triple before the election on the 28th March; that the government expects three million citizens to turn out and exercise their democratic duty; and that social distancing is the most effective measure to prevent the spread of the virus.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to postpone the election by a minimum of four months, or until such a time that Coronavirus no longer poses a threat to human lives in Queensland.
