Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that the Queensland Government has recently changed the rules on how they charge for Emergency Management Levy. Property owners are now charged a levy on every parcel of land even if the parcel is only a few square metres. This means some property owners are paying up to ten times the Emergency Management Levy.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to change the regulations relating to section 108 of the Fire and Emergency Services Act 1990 to restore status quo being that multiple titles having single use are only subject to one levy.
