Queensland residents draw to the attention of the House the absence of meaningful consultation with local stakeholders when traffic islands and “No Right Turn” signs were installed at the intersection of Albion and Albert Streets in Warwick. Local small businesses have suffered reduced custom, and local motorists are inconvenienced by the prohibition of turning right into Albion Street which was implemented as part of the nearby Bunnings development.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to cause the removal of the “No Right Turn” signs and traffic islands, and return the intersection of Albion and Albert Streets, Warwick, to its pre-2019 configuration and traffic arrangements, without any change to the current heavy vehicle access arrangements for Albert Street.
